Among the various initiatives and volunteer opportunities, the Cpl. Kyle R. Schneider Foundation offers:
- care packages to service members in combat zones:
The Foundation works to deliver care packages to our Service Members in combat zones. Through activities like our 5k run, together with generous donations of items, boxes are sent to our service members. The foundation also helps support Syracuse Marine Parents in our care package efforts. See below at the bottom of the page for a sample list of items that may sent to deployed servicepeople. Learn more about SMP at http://syracusemarineparents.com/
-assisting in providing Service dogs to military heroes:
Your monetary donations go to develop and provide service, therapy, and guide dogs for our returned Heroes operated by a local foundation. Heroes recieve much more than a companion, they find hope and healing through the unconditional love of man's best friend. The Cpl. Kyle R. Schneider Foundation endorses programs like Clear Path for Veterans.
-prayer shawl ministries to survivors:
We are honored to say this is another one of our very meaningful extensions of The Foundation. Volunteers from all over with knitting, crocheting, and quilt making skills give of their time to make prayer shawls and quilts to give to families of the fallen. By doing so volunteers realize a real and tangible sense of caring, comfort, and giving to families suffering that devastating, life altering news. We can say first hand what a meaningful, comforting ministry this is, given by people whom we may or may not know near or far. If you don't have the materials it is not a problem. Our Congregation offers a yarn and quilt patch exchange and donation opportunity. Perhaps your Church or one near you also provides a similar opportunnity.
-annual scholarships to graduating High School seniors:
Our Foundation seeks donations to support these worthy scholarships through the Baldwinsville Central School District.
The Cpl. Kyle R. Schneider Scholarship fund is an annual community scholarship given to a student pursuing a criminal justice degree, or enrolling in a college ROTC/OCS incuring tuition expenses and administered by The Baldwinsville Community Scholarship Fund.
The Cpl. Kyle R. Schneider Music Scholarship is another annual scholarship set up in Kyle's memory by Quintescence to a deserving student pursuing a music degree in college, also administered by The Baldwinsville Community Scholarship Fund.
The Cpl.Kyle R. Schneider Scholarship For General Studies is a scholarship set up ESPA (Baldwinsville Central Schools) to assist a qualifying student pursuing a degree in general studies at an accredited college or university, also administered by The Baldwinsville Community Scholarship fund.http://www.bville.org/
- Take a Veteran fishing:
In 2011 a local BASS fishing club held a fishing tournament in memory of Cpl.Kyle R. Schneider. This year area BASS clubs plan to continue the tradition of having a Take A Soldier Fishing Day as well as planning a tournament with a Cpl.Kyle R. Schneider fishing Team. With statewide and national Bass Competitors in our region annually, the hope is this will raise awareness of The Foundation's efforts to help our heroes and to honor Kyles' love of outdoor sports.
Do you represent a company or corporation seeking to make a difference in the community? We can provide you opportunities to supply material and or financial support to The Foundation, which will make a real and tangible difference to our service people and their families. Being a volunteer organization with No Paid Staff Members you can be assured your donations will get to the people who need it. Further, your contributions will be Tax Deductable (501(c)3 application in progress).
