Our Crest-
The Foundation Crest was in no small part concieved by Kyle's close friend and fellow Marine from 2/8, Cpl. John Curtin. It depicts a shield, sword, and two stylized representations of two of the many Medals awarded Kyle during his service and as a result of his sacrifice for his Country. The shield represents the shield of faith as outlined in 'The Armor of God' passage from The Holy Bible, Ephesians 6: 10-18, a passage very dear and meaningful to Kyle. The shield is bisected by a sword signifying the Noncommisioned Marine Officers Sword of his rank. The green field on the left side of the shield represents The Navy And Marine Corps Commendation Medal given posthumously by the Secretary of the Navy for Heroic Achievement while serving in combat as 3rd Platoon Team leader. The gold 'V' for Valor, was pinned to his medal for distinguished combat service. It signifies that Kyle's bold actions in combat in the face of the enemy and in known and imminent danger were of the highest order and without regard to his own personal safety to secure the safety of his fellow Marines. The purple field on the right and icon represent, of course, the Purple Heart Medal awarded for injuries recieved during combat. This was not however awarded posthumously, as Kyle survived a direct IED blast. After care for his injuries and observation at FOB Leatherneck, Kyle insisted he be sent back to his combat outpost in Sangin. He would not leave his men to whom he was devoted. The bright Gold Star above the Shield indicates posthumous awarding of a second Purple Heart. Thank you John for being a part of our lives and helping to keep Kyle's spirit and memory alive.
Corporal John Curtin served with distinction with Kyle, and among his many meritorious awards, is a Purple Heart recipient. Severely wounded in action he is an amazing source of inspiration to anyone who has the good fortune to know or meet him. John was dauntless in his recovery efforts. He has completed many marathons including the NYC and Boston Marathons all in a wheelchair and has skied the slopes of Vale, Colorado since recovering from his wounds. He plays semi-pro hockey for the USA Sled Hockey League. We were moved to tears when he stood to take his wedding vows to a most beautiful, intelligent and compassionate woman who became his wife. His good nature, smile, and indomitable spirit to succeed are an inspiration to those who know and meet him. He embodies all of the greatest attributes of a Marine. We are proud to know him. http://hfotusa.org/curtin
As the family of a fallen Marine in the Global War on Terrorism our lives have been shattered and irrevocably altered by this tragic event in our lives. We know only too well the horror, grief, shock and sorrow that accompanies the awful news that comes when two Marines show up in the driveway. We would not be standing today if not for the immense outpouring of love and support from family, friends, our Church family at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church, Crouse Hospital, Baldwinsville Central School District, Fire and Law Enforcement Departments, Ambulance Corps, our Community, area Businesses, VFW's, Veterans and Civic groups, Red Cross, Military, NY State, and Nation.
A parent is not supposed to outlive their child. To lose a child or sibling is perhaps the most cruel thing a person could experience in life. We would move heaven and earth to have our Kyle back. There isn't anyone in our family that wouldn't have gladly traded places with Kyle that awful day in June, 2011. But no one would ever deny him the honor and legacy which is rightly his. He earned it. He gallantly rests with valor. We take inspiration not from what Kyle died for, but rather what Kyle LIVED for. So it is to this end we carry on for him, trying to uphold the values embodied in the Marine Corps Moto which he esteemed, with Honor, Courage, and Committment. Semper Fi Kyle. Rest in peace dear son, we have this watch.

CPL. SCHNEIDER'S FAMILY EMBARKS UPON MEMORIAL MOUNTAIN CLIMBS
Cpl.Kyle R. Schneider was an avid outdoorsman. Among the activities he most enjoyed was a lifelong love of mountain climbing in New Yorks' Adirondack Mountains. Kyle ascended many mountains in his young life and was well on his way to being a '46er'. NY has 46 'high peaks'; 4000' to over a mile in height, many with majestic views and very rugged and challenging trails. After the one year anniversary of Kyle's death, his family has resolved to honor his memory by climbing all the many peaks he did in his life. As you can see from the pictures we leave a small American Flag with a picture of Kyle attatched on the summit. We've recieved an incrediblely positive response from folks who find his picture. We are pleased to hear from people who are moved by Kyles life and contact us to express their appreciation and gratitude for all of our Veterans sacrifices. One hiker, a reporter, Tom Woodman, called and interviewed Kyles' Mom. Kyle continues to inspire and brings out the best in people. Kyle's story is featured in the Nov/Dec 2012 issue of the bimonthly Adirondack Explorer Magazine (see: Park Perspectives: A Day on Bald Mountain). http://www.adirondackexplorer.org/

FREEDOM TEAM MEMBER ELLEN BRUNET TAKES THE TEAM TO THE MARINE CORPS MARATHON
Ellen Brunet and her team members traveled to The Marine Corps Marathon held Sunday, October 28, 2012 in Arlington Virginia. The race started near Arlington National Cemetery and finished at the Iwo Jima Marine Corps Monument. Over 23,000 runners participated with wounded warriors taking part, and many running in honor and memory of our fallen heroes. Ellens' team has been training since earlier this past summer to prepare for this race. With sore feet and aching muscles, managed to stop and pay homage to Fallen Heroes at Section 60. In the chill winds and rain of Hurricane Sandy, she stated '...our military Heroes endure so much more, for so long, without complaint, in selfless service and sacrifice on our behalf'. A very moving tribute. What an inspiring effort. Way to go Ellen and Team Believe! http://www.marinemarathon.com/
ROCHELLE AND LARRY CLARK RUN THE ARMY 10 MILER IN WASHINGTON,D.C. IN HONOR AND MEMORY OF CPL. KYLE R. SCHNEIDER
OCTOBER 21, 2012
Running in honor and memory of Cpl. Kyle R. Schneider, Rochele and Larry Clark participated in the Army 10 miler. While in D.C., the Clark's attended a Veterans Expo and networked with many organizations. One organization, familiar to us, TAPS, was present and the Clark's fortuitously met Tiffany Sizemore, a social worker and counselor with TAPS. Tiffany, who was staffing the TAPS booth, ran in Kyle's honor and memory at the half marathon at Walt Disney World this year. Also that weekend were memorable and moving visits to the Pentagon's 9-11 Memorial Site and Arlington National Cemetary's hallowed ground; "Where Valor Rests". From the bottom of our hearts we thank the Clark's for keeping alive the spirit of our son and connecting with so many others to let them know about our fallen heroes and The Cpl. Kyle R. Schneider Foundation.
Work begins on trail and site preparation for Memorial Bench at Beaver Lake Nature Center
Eagle Scout candidate Nick Clark and members of Troop 80, under the guidance of Troop leaders and parents began performing the physical phase of his Eagle Scout project effort October 21, 2012. The bench will be funded privately by Cpl. Kyle Schneider's family. September 16th friends and family made the trek to the site for a dedication ceremony. Cpl. Schneider's parents and family, along with Scout Clark's parents were present for the work party to lend support. Afterward there was fellowship and refreshments capped by a brief prayer dedication. We are proud Nick Clark chose this as his Eagle Scout project. Clark is a fine example of the kind of mature, civic minded indiviual that scouting helps to shape into tomorrows future leaders.
Cpl. Kyle Schneider was an avid Boyscout and enjoyed many of its' activities.

The first annual Cpl.Kyle R. Schneider Blood Drive held by The Red Cross and sponsored by Crouse Irving Hospital in Syracuse New York was a huge success. The total qualified pints collected exceeded the goals needed for this drive and very nearly shattered the all time record for any Crouse Blood Drive. Kyle motivated many new first-time givers to make the committment and give, an inspiration for us all. Everyone who attended or gave are real 'everyday Heroes'. Crouse Hospital holds several Blood Drives by the Red Cross each year, giving many the chance to 'Make a Difference" for those in need. Thank you Crouse Hospital for Honoring our son in such a meaningful way. We are deeply grateful. Crouse Hospital is one of the largest hospitals in Central New York and an active and important member of the community. www.crouse.org/

Honor and Remember Flag Ceremony dediated to Cpl.Kyle Schneider- May 12,2012
Armed forces Recognition Day at Alliance Bank stadium, Syracuse, New York. Activities began at noon with displays by the Troops from Fort Drum, NY, 10th Mtn Division. These included a Predator Drone, Military Service Vehicles, a live band, and many displays and free materials for the public to see and become acquanted with. These hometown Heroes have served with pride and have sacrificed so much on behalf of the American people to keep us safe from harm. It was our honor to have participated in recognizing them. Fittingly the venue was at America's favorite passtime,a baseball game. What a tangible example of the safety, peace, and civility we enjoy because of our heroes. A reenlistment ceremony preceded an Honor ceremony on the field at 1pm with flag presentation to the family of Cpl.Kyle Schneider. A very moving video presentation of Kyle accompanied. An invocation followed. The Fort Drum Band Band performed flawlessly with colors provided by the Air Force's 174th Tactical Fighter Wing from Syracuse. The National Anthem was sung while a huge American Flag was held out and covered about half of the infield. This very special flag flew over Kandahar, Afghanistan in 2011 while Kyle served in Sangin, Afghanistan. Very moving. A heartfelt 'Thank You' to everyone involved.

HALF MARATHON TO BENEFIT TAPS IN HONOR OF FALLEN HEROES- DISNEY WORLD, FEBRUARY 26,2012
A half marathon was run at Disney World in Orlando, Florida to benefit The Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors (TAPS), Feb. 26, in honor of fallen Heroes. Ms. Tiffany Sizemore ran in honor of Cpl.Kyle R. Schneider. Not only did she finish with a personal best, she exceeded her fund raising goals as well, raising well over $1000. Congratulations and thank you to Tiffany and to TAPS for such a worthy cause.
TAPS lends much needed emotional support and guidance to families of the fallen. The folks at TAPS are wonderful, dedicated, caring people who know what families are going through because they have been there too. You know when you open up to a TAPS staff member or peer support counselor you know in talking with them, that they have traveled this grief journey too. What a powerful, critically needed mission.

Fox Fest 2014
This year Fox Fest organizers George Ryan and Kelly Nichols held their annual outdoor music event in honor of our Military Heroes. The event raises funds that go to a worthy community organization and this year they selected The Corporal Kyle R. Schneider Foundation as the beneficiary. We were so proud to honor our son Kyle and all our Fallen Heroes and Veterans. What a spectacular job they did orchestrating this event that featured many well known musical acts and hosted campers for the weekend. We were thrilled that they asked us to speak and address the crowd which was warm and attentive. Kudos go to George, Kelly their families and all who helped put on a great weekend of activities.
